Barcelona Signs Marc-Andre Ter Stegen To Replace Valdes
Barcelona have completed the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen for an undisclosed fee to replace departing Victor Valdes.
Barca have been strongly linked to the keeper, who has signed a five-year deal, since Valdes announced he would leave the club this summer.
The 22-year-old Germany international agreed a deal in principle with Barcelona before the club was handed a 14-month ban by FIFA for breaching rules on signing international players under the age of 18 and then put on hold pending their appeal.
Ter Stegen, who played all 34 of Gladbach's Bundesliga games this season as they finished sixth, is likely to be the club's number one goal tender next season with Jose Manuel Pinto of contract in the summer and leaving the Nou Camp.
The signing comes on the same day as the appointment of Luis Enrique as boss and Lionel Messi signing a new deal.
