Michu Joins Napoli
Napoli have signed Spanish international striker Michu on a season long loan from Swansea City, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed on Thursday.
"Welcome, Michu!" film magnate De Laurentiis said in an announcement on Twitter, re-used by the club in a rolling feed on their website (www.sscnapoli.it) together with a photograph.
Italian media reported that Michu, 28, will sign a year-long loan deal.
After the payment of an initial fee of around €1.75 million, Napoli will have the chance to buy the Spaniard for €7.5 million at the end of next season, the reports added.
Michu joined Premier League side Swansea from Spanish club Rayo Vallecano in 2012 and scored 22 goals in his first season as the Welsh club claimed their first major honour by winning the English League Cup.
He struggled with knee and ankle injuries last season, making only 19 league appearances, scoring twice.
Napoli finished third in Serie A last season and are seeking to strengthen their squad for a Champions League campaign and fresh title bid under head coach Rafael Benitez, former manager at Valencia, Liverpool, Inter Milan and Chelsea.
UEFA Hand Alonso, Simeone One Match Ban
Xabi Alonso has been banned from Real Madrid's next European match for his touchline celebration towards the end of last season's Champions League final win against Atletico.
The Spanish midfielder was banned for his team's final match against Atletico Madrid and as such could not be on the bench but, when Gareth Bale scored what proved to be the winning goal, he ran down the touchline to join his team-mates in celebration.
Atletico coach, Diego Simeone has also been handed a one-match ban for his conduct towards Real defender, Raphael Varane.
Simeone went on to the pitch twice during extra time of his team's 4-1 loss in May, and confronted Varane, who had kicked a ball toward the Atletico dugout after the last goal.
During an often physical match, seven Atletico players and five from Real were booked.
For improper conduct by their players and for fans setting off fireworks, Atletico have been fined £16,500 and Real £14,250.
Lyon Complete Signing Of Rose
French Ligue 1 club, Lyon on Thursday confirmed the signing of under-21 international defender Lindsay Rose from Valenciennes on a four-year deal.
Lyon did not confirm the transfer fee paid for the defender, but it is thought to be under €2 million.
Rose, who spent just 18 months at Valenciennes and was out injured for much of last season as the northern club were relegated to the second tier, signed on at the Stade de Gerland until the summer of 2018.
He is Lyon's first recruit of the summer but coach Hubert Fournier denied that the arrival of Rose will definitely see fellow defender Samuel Umtiti depart.
"We don't want him or Clement Grenier to leave but they have asked to be allowed to depart if another club offers them the chance to progress in their careers," said Fournier.
The 23-year-old midfielder Grenier was named in France's World Cup squad before withdrawing due to injury.

Ferdinad Joins QPR
Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has signed for Premier League returnee, QPR on a free transfer on Thursday.
Ferdinand agreed a one-year deal with the Hoops, ending his search for a new club following his release by United when his contract expired last month.
The 35-year-old was keen to move back to London, where he was born, and he has decided to rejoin QPR boss Harry Redknapp, who handed him his professional debut when the pair worked together at West Ham.
Ferdinand revealed the prospect of turning out for a club he admired as a boy also persuaded him to move to Loftus Road, where his brother Anton and cousin Les both played with distinction.
"I used to sit in the stands, my dad use to bring me here as a young boy. There are great memories for me here and for my family," Ferdinand told QPR's website.
"Anton had nothing but good things to say about QPR and I watched Les (Ferdinand) here as a boy, with the likes of Ray Wilkins, Clive Wilson, David Bardsley and Alan McDonald."
Ferdinand, who won six Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League during his 12-year spell with United, is Redknapp's first close-season signing after guiding QPR back to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.
The former England centre-back admitted he had turned down several more lucrative offers from across the world to sign for QPR.
"I spoke to Harry and (owner) Tony Fernandes at length. I think they both looked me in the eye and knew that I still have something to offer --that I had a genuine desire to come here and play football," Ferdinand added.
"I had a lot of offers from all over the world, some in places with a better climate than here. But the draw for me was to play in the Premier League and back here where it all started.
"It's not about money. I had loads of more lucrative offers available to me.
"I still feel I've got something to offer and I'm excited about helping this club cement its place in the Premier League."
Redknapp has no doubts Ferdinand can still be an effective performer at the highest level despite some underwhelming displays for United last season.
"Rio's a fantastic player and a great professional. I'm delighted we've been able to bring him here," Redknapp said.
"I signed Rio as a 14 year-old. He was class on the field and off the field then, and he's continued in that manner throughout his career.
"During his time at Manchester United, he was the best defender in Europe, if not the world.
"To bring him to QPR, when he's still got so much to offer in terms of his quality, class, experience and know-how, is a remarkable coup for the club."

The striker flew to Istanbul on Wednesday morning, before being unveiled by the Turkish giants in the afternoon.
The 29-year-old tweeted a message in Turkish saying, 'I'm here @Besiktas!', and shortly after he was unveiled with the club's No 9 shirt.
"The interest shown by the fans and the new stadium project won me over," said the Senegalese striker.
"I'm very happy to be here, all that is left is a few formalities, I will undergo a medical and sign the contract.
"I am excited to be here and can't wait to start playing.
"I want to showcase my talent to the fans as soon as possible, this is a huge club and I want to become a part of it.
"I want to thank the fans for their warm welcome and I am sure we are going to establish a great relationship."
Besiktas President Fikret Orman gave Ba a tour of Besiktas' new stadium project.
"Ba is a player we all believe in, we put in a lot of time and effort to complete the transfer to the best of our interests," Orman said.
"The transfer is within our budget and we are delighted to have completed the move."
Orman confirmed on Monday that the club had negotiated a deal for Ba for slightly lower than Chelsea's £10million asking price.
Ba left Stamford Bridge after a season spent as third-choice striker behind Samuel Eto'o and Fernando Torres, and with Diego Costa's £32million recent arrival.
Ba who spent much of last season as Chelsea's third choice option up front had a decent end to the season, scoring game-winning goals against Paris St Germain, Swansea and Liverpool.
Chelsea signed Ba from Newcastle for £7million in January 2013. He has also played for West Ham and Hoffenheim before moving to Stamford Bridge.
