Massimiliano Allegri Takes Over At Juventus
Former AC Milan Coach , Massimiliano allegri has been appointed the new Coach at Juventus after Antonio Conte surprisingly resigned Tuesday.
46 year old Allegri was sacked by Milan in January 2014 after series of poor results in the League that left them languishing in mid table.
"It is an honour for me," said Allegri. "I'm very happy and I know what a big job coaching Juventus is."
Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta said: "Allegri is a coach who has displayed his winning credentials wherever he’s been. At Sassuolo, he gained a historic promotion to Serie B. In Cagliari, where the aim was survival, he led them to an excellent finish. And at Milan he won the Scudetto during his first year in charge."
Juventus have won the title in each of the last three seasons, finishing 45 points ahead of Milan last year.
Allegri in his speech at his presentation added: "We'll compete for the title all the way. As for Europe, we need to have a great run in the Champions League."
Conte quit on Tuesday with a year left on his contract, stating he felt it "may be more difficult to keep winning with Juventus" in the future.
