Mourinho Denies FA Charge Of Misconduct

Chelsea Manager, Jose Mourinho has denied any act of misconduct relating to comments made after Chelsea's defeat to Sunderland as charged by the English Football Association.
Mourinho in a post match interview at the Stamford Bridge on April 19 where they lost 2-1 to Sunderland, choose to "congratulate" referee Mike Dean for his "unbelievable" performance when Cesar Azpilicueta was adjudged to have brought down Jozy Altidore in the penalty area with his challenge and Fabio Borini calmly slot past Schwarzer in goal from the spot to give the 'Black Cats' an opportunity to stage a surprise upset over the London club.

The FA believed Mourinho's utterance have called into question the integrity of the official with his post-match comments.

Mourinho's assistant, Rui Faria, has admitted two misconduct breaches for using abusive and/or insulting words towards the referee and improper conduct.

The 38-year-old was outraged by Dean's decision to award a spot-kick and had to be restrained by Mourinho when asked to leave the technical area after angrily confronting the fourth official.

Both Mourinho and Faria have requested non-personal hearings, although a date for these has yet to be confirmed by the FA.

Chelsea midfielder Ramires was charged together with Mourinho and Faria after elbowing Sebastian Larsson, but the midfielder did not contest his sanction and is now serving a four-match ban.
