Thibaut Courtois is poised to face his parent club, Chelsea as the draws for the Semi final stage of the UEFA champions League has pitched Atletico Madrid against the London club.
Courtois, 21, joined Chelsea from Genk in 2011 and was immediately sent out on-loan to Atletico Madrid where he has been impressive so far thereby laying claims to the starting position ahead of Spaniard, Sergio Asenjo.
Chelsea have an uphill task in their quest to win the Champions League tittle for the second time, having won it for the first time at the Allianz Arena two seasons ago.
The other fixture of the semi final stage will see Real Madrid face current champion, Bayern Munich.
Real Madrid are in search of their tenth tittle having won it last against Bayern Leverkusen in 2002 and has had a not impressive run in the tournament since then, they will however look to better their lot this season.
Bayern on the other hand will hope to retain the trophy but will first have to scale the Madrid huddle to play in the final to actualize their dream.
The first legs will be played on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 April, with the return games the following week, Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 April, while the tournament concludes in Lisbon on May 24.
