Newcastle United has agreed a fee of around €24 million(£20m) with Paris Saint-Germain for their star mid-fielder, Yohan Cabaye.
The Move which is expected to be completed on Tuesday as Cabaye is due to discuss personal terms and take medicals in France has seen him excused from the squad to face Norwich City, Tuesday Night.
An Initial offer of around €17m for the 28-year-old mid-fielder was initially rejected by Newcastle but an improved bid was quickly submitted by the Ligue 1 money bag to take Cabaye off the market for other prospective suitors like Arsenal and Manchester United.
Cabaye joined Newcastle from Lille in the summer of 2011, after spending 7 years with the French side but is now poised for a return to his native country and a dream of playing in the Champions League again.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew earlier Monday admitted he is not confident of keeping his star playmaker beyond Friday's winter transfer window deadline in the face of PSG's interest and a transfer now seems to be a matter of time.
