Brazil 2014: Mexico Names Squad, Chicarito, Dos Santos Makes List
Mexico national team coach, Miguel Herrera, has released the list of 23 players that will represent the country in the forthcoming world cup billed to kickstart in Brazil come June this year.
Herrera named three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders and five strikers in his squad.
Former Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez, 35, will captain the squad, which also include former Fulham full-back Carlos Salcido, Manchester United's forward, Javier Hernandez has been named also make the cut, not leaving out Villarreal's Giovani Dos Santos.
Obvious omission however is Real Sociedad's former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela thou not a surprise having not played for the team since 2011.
Mexico will play in Group A which has Croatia, Cameroon and hosts Brazil.

Goalkeepers: Jose de Jesus Corona (Cruz Azul), Guillermo Ochoa (Ajaccio), Alfredo Talavera (Toluca).
Defenders: Miguel Layun (America), Carlos Salcido (Tigres), Paul Aguilar (America), Andres Guardado (Bayer Leverkusen), Hector Moreno (Espanyol), Francisco Javier Rodriguez (America), Diego Reyes (Porto), Rafael Marquez (Leon).
Midfielders: Juan Carlos Medina (America), Jose Juan Vazquez (Leon), Luis Montes (Leon), Hector Herrera (Porto), Isaac Brizuela (Toluca), Marco Fabian (Cruz Azul), Carlos Pena (Leon).
Forwards: Oribe Peralta (Santos), Javier Hernandez (Manchester United), Giovani dos Santos (Villarreal), Raul Jimenez (America), Alan Pulido (Tigres).
