Anelka Announces Termination Of Contract

West Bromish Albion striker, Nicolas Anelka has terminated his contract with the Premier League side with immediate effect due to what he described as unacceptable terms to rejoining the team.

The France international made the announcement on his twitter account on Friday; he said the decision was reached so as "maintain his integrity".

Anelka was earlier this month banned by the FA for five games and fine him £80,000 for his controversial 'quenelle' goal celebration during his teams league fixture against Westham United.

"Following discussions between the club and me, proposals have been made to me that I rejoined the group under certain conditions that I cannot accept. Wishing to keep my integrity, so I decided to free myself and to terminate the contract linking me with West Bromwich Albion until 2014, as of now," Anelka  tweeted.

The striker joined Albion on a free transfer in the summer from China side Shanghai Shenhua, making 12 appearances and scoring four goals.

However, West Brom is yet to confirm Anelka's claims.
