Bafetimbi Gomis Joins Swansea
Sawnsea City has completed the signing of Lyon forward, Bafetimbi Gomis on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old joined from French club, Olympique Lyon, signing a four-year contract with the Swans that will see him remain in Liberty stadium until 2018.
A statement on the Clubs official website reads: "Swansea City is pleased to announce the signing of French international striker Bafetimbi Gomis, subject to international clearance."
"Gomis, who will join the forward ranks alongside Wilfried Bony, completed a medical and agreed personal terms at the Liberty Stadium tonight." the statement added
Gomis who was capped 12 times by France netted 22 goals for Lyon last season, plus 25 the previous campaign. He joined Lyon for 13m euros in July 2009 from St Etienne where he scored 40 goals in 142 appearances.
The France international totalled an astonishing 172 appearances scoring 62 goals, turned down the offer of a new contract to join Swansea City
Garry Monk's Swansea, who were 12th in the league last season, kick off the new campaign at Manchester United on August 16.
