Keshi Names Final Squad, Igiebor, Mba, Nsofor Dropped



Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has named his 23 man squad ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil dropping the trio of Nosa Igiebor, Sunday Mba and Nnamdi Oduamadi.

Warri Wolves goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi Joel Obi, Obinna Nsofor as well as Chan 2014 most valuable player, Ejike Uzoneyi were also left out of team.

The twenty three man squad named by the coach has three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders and seven attackers

Leading the pack is inspirational captain, Joseph Yobo, who after been left out of team since the victory at the nations cup in South Africa returned to the squad ahead of the tournament, also making a return is estranged Striker, Osaze Odemwingie, and Juwon Oshaniwa.

Usual Suspects, Vincent Enyeama, John Obi Mikel, Ogenyi Onazi, Austin Ejide, Elderson Echiejile, Emmanuel Emenike, Godfrey Oboabona, Kenneth Omeruo, and Ahmed Musa all will be making the trip to Brazil

The final squad list released in a statement by the Nigeria Football Federation on Monday, shows that Keshi named just three home-based professionals - Warri Wolves defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe, Kunle Odunlami of Sunshine Stars and Gombe United goalkeeper, Chigozie Agbim - in the squad.

The likes of John Mikel Obi, Emmanuel Emenike, Godfrey Oboabona, Victor Moses and sixteen others named by Keshi ahead of the tournament will be making their World Cup debut in Brazil.
