Mexico Pound Croatia 3-1, Moves To Next Stage
Mexico has qualified for the round of sixteen stage of the FIFA World Cup going on in Brazil after defeating 10 man Croatia three goals to one.
Rafael Marquez, Andres Guardado and Javier Hernandez secured Mexico's safe passage into the last 16 and and setup a clash against group B winners, Netherlands.
Ivan Perisic scored a consolation for Croatia, whose misery was compounded when Ante Rebic was sent off late on for an ugly tackle on Carlos Pena.
After securing a win against Cameroun and a draw against Brazil earning them four points already, Mexico only needed a draw to confirm their qualification unto the next stage while Croatia needs an outright win for them to move to the next stage of the competition.
More to come...
