2014/15 La Liga fixtures announced, El-Clasico set for October and March


The Spanish Football Association (RFEF) has announce the fixtures for the 2014/2015 La Liga Season with the most anticipated fixture in the Spanish League, El-Clasico scheduled for October and March.

The League season as announced by RFEF on Thursday opens on the weekend of August 23-24 with defending La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid, taking on city rivals Rayo Vallecano as Barcelona and Real Madrid play Elche and Cordoba  respectively

The first leg of the highly-anticipated clashes between the two Spanish giants will see Real host the Catalan giants on October 26 at Santiago Bernabeu before the reverse fixture at Camp Nou on March 22, 2015.

Following the announcement, new Barcelona signing Luis Suarez could be eligible to play his first Clasico in the capital in October - irrespective of his four-month ban being reduced - given that his sanction is due to end by october, while the likes of World Cup-winner Toni Kroos and Colombia star James Rodriguez will also be onhand to feature in their first-ever El-Clasico encounter.

Matchday one of the 2014-15 season in Spain will also see Sevilla hosting Valencia, Levante taking on Villarreal and Malaga playing Athletic Bilbao at La Rosaleda.
