Toni Kroos Completes Move To Madrid
Bayern Munich have announced thatToni Kroos has completed his proposed move to Real Madrid for an undisclosed fee.
The 24 year old attacking midfielder had long been linked with a move to the Champions League holders and he has now signed a six year contract with the capital club until the summer of 2020.
"We would like to thank Toni for his time at Bayern Munich," said Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on the deal.
"We enjoyed some great successes together. We wish him and his family all the best in Madrid and at Real."
Manchester United also showed an interest in signing the Germany international, but Kroos eventually opted against a move to the Premier League giants in favour of Madrid.
Kroos, who played a key role in Germany's World Cup triumph this summer scoring two goals and assisting four, will be presented to the media and fans on the honorary balcony at the Santiago Bernabeu at 17:00CET on Thursday.
The World Cup winning midfielder joined Bayern Munich in 2007 as a teenager and spent the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 season onloan with Bayern Leverkusen.
He made a total of 176 appearances for the Bavarians scoring 23 goals and winning 3 Bundesliga (2008, 2013, 2014), 3 German Cup (2008, 2013, 2014), 2 German Supercups (2010, 2012), 1 Champions League (2013), 1 Club World Cup (2013), and 1 UEFA Supercup (2013)
