Arsenal Looking To Sign Columbia International
Arsenal are hoping to complete the signing of David Ospina this week, according to the most recent transfer speculation.
Colombia goalkeeper, David Ospina has agreed personal terms with Arsenal as he nears a move to north London as the Gunners have agreed a £3m fee and now just need to sign off on a deal that sees the Colombian provide cover for current No.1 Wojciech Szczesny.
Ospina who raised his profile considerably with a string of impressive performances for his country at the just concluded World Cup in Brazil was last week revealed as Arsene Wenger's preferred target to replace the recently departed Lukasz Fabianski at the Emirates Stadium and the Frenchman is looking to tie up a £3 million deal in the next few days.
Report has it that Wenger himself has already conducted preliminary discussions with Ospina's camp over a potential switch to Arsenal, with the 25-year-old's representatives supposedly believing that he is ready to make the move from lowly Ligue 1 outfit Nice.
With recent departure of Lukaz Fabianski to Swansea and Emiliano Viviano to parent club, Palermo, Arsenal are left with just last summers first choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny hence the hunt for a credible and experience goal tender to jostle for the position with the Poland international.
Ospina's imminent arrival would represent the latest deal for the Gunners as the Londoners have already announced the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona and are expected to announce the signing of Newcastle's Mathieu Debuchy soon having completed his medicals last week.
