NFF board impeach Maigari
The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Aminu Maigari has been impeached by the members of the executive committee of the Football Federation for alleged misconduct.
The embattled administrator was earlier in July sacked by a Court order which sprang controversy and eventual suspension of the Nigerian Football Federation by FIFA.
However Maigari was restated and the suspension lifted but He was finally impeached during the board's meeting on Thursdayahead of the August 26 General congress of the NFF.
A communiqué at the end of the meeting stated that “the committee approved the immediate dismissal of Alhaji Aminu Maigari, from the NFF Executive Committee on grounds of financial misappropriation, misapplication and maladministration.”
Eight of the thirteen members of the executive committee of the board signed the impeachment motion which kicked him out of office.
The members are; Shehu Adamu, Effiong Johnson, Ahmed Kawo, Dilichukwu Onyedima, Deji Tinubu, Felix Anyansi and Muazu Sulieman.
Second vice-president, Mike Umeh, will act in Maigari's capacity until that congress holds in August.
