FIFA orders Maigari's reinstatement as NFF boss
The world football governing body, FIFA, has told the Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] that Aminu Maigari "must preside over the NFF Congress on 26 August."
The development means that FIFA wants the troubled football federation president reinstated in office before the elective congress takes place this month.
FIFA also wants the composition of the NFF executive committee to remain as it was before the 2014 Fifa World Cup.
"The Executive Committee of the NFF shall also be reunified as it was before the 2014 Fifa World Cup. Furthermore, we advise you that President Maigari must preside over the NFF Congress on 26 August," FIFA wrote to the NFF General Secretary, Musa Amadu on Thursday.
FIFA also frowned at the current situation in Nigerian football administration describing it as "so confused."
"As stated in our letter dated 4 August 2014, it is regrettable that the situation has turned so confused while elections are planned to take place on 26 August 2014," Fifa stated.
Maigari was voted out of office last month as president of the NFF, leading to Fifa asking the federation to provide reasons behind the removal of its leader.
