NFF to finalise Keshi's appointment next week
The Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] has moved to conclude an agreement with Stephen Keshi to continue as head coach of the Super Eagles.
The football federation has informed that "details of his [Keshi's] contract" should be done and dusted by next week followed by the official signing of the agreement.
The NFF is moving to speed up the process of re-appointing Keshi ahead of Nigeria's 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda in September.
Already, Keshi has expressed his desire to continue as manager of the African champions and in an official capacity too.
"Having received a written expression of interest from Mr. Stephen Keshi to continue as Head Coach of Senior National Team, Super Eagles, the Executive Committee mandated the Secretariat to reach out to Mr. Keshi to conclude the details of his contract and signing by next week, so that he can resume work ahead of the fast - approaching 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series," the NFF stated.
Keshi took charge of the Nigerian men's team in November 2011 and during his two and a half years as manager.
He won the 2013 Afcon and reached the last 16 of the 2014 Fifa World Cup before his contract ran out in July.
