Arsenal Vs Manchester United Preview



The stage is set for the most anticipated clash in the English Premier League ever between London club Arsenal and Manchester United.

Following the humiliating defeat of Arsenal by Liverpool on Saturday, the Gunners will be looking to make a statement as not only will they need to redeem their pride they will also need to get back on top of the log and put themselves in a good position to contend for the title.

Manchester United also suffered a dim in confidence as a late goal by Darren Bent dented their opportunity of getting back into the race thou they have been unimpressive so far in the season.

Today's encounter is a must win for both teams as they will need the it to boost their title challenge; Arsenal needs to lay claim to all three point so they can take advantage of the 1-1 draw Chelsea played with Westbrom yesterday to climb to the summit of the EPL table while Untied will need all three points to stay on course for at least an appearance in Europe next season

Thou Arsenal look more inform of the two sides they will have to be conscious of the attacking ability of their opponent, as United is highly gifted upfront with the likes of Rooney, Juan Mata, Januzaj and of course their former point man Robin Van Persie all playing in the attack for the Red Devils.

United won the reverse fixture earlier in the season When Robin Van Persie headed in the only goal of the game from a corner in the first half and will now hope to do the same when the two sides meet again tonight.

Manchester United currently lie 7th on the log table on 41 points four behind Everton who sits in 6th position with 45 points while Arsenal who currently sit second behind Chelsea on 55points on the other hand will have to win the encounter so as to return to the summit of the log and displace Chelsea to either second or third depending on the outcome of the game between Manchester City and Sunderland at the Ethihad stadium.

The Gunners are unbeaten at home in the Premier League since an opening-day defeat against Aston Villa and have only conceded one goal, against Everton, in their last eight league matches at the Emirates.

The two clubs have met 218 times in all competitions, Manchester United lead by 92 wins to Arsenal's 79 and there have been 47 draws.

United have only lost one of their last 13 meetings with Arsenal in all competitions (W10, D2, L1) and Arsenal have lost to Manchester United 20 times in the Premier League, more than they have against any other team.

Arsenal summer recruit, Yaya Sanogo is available for selection after five months out with a back injury.

Mathieu Flamini completes a three-match ban, while Aaron Ramsey, Kim Kallstrom, Thomas Vermaelen, Abou Diaby and Theo Walcott are all out injured.

Manchester United


Coache, David Moyes will be without the services of centre backs, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans as they are both suffering from calf injuries and Midfielder Marouane Fellaini who is still out with a groin problem.
