Wenger Discuss Van Persie's Potential Return

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger has met with Robin van Persie's agent to discuss the Dutch striker's a potential return to the Emirates Stadium.

Recent Reports emanating from Old Trafford suggest that the Dutchman who joined Manchester United from Arsenal in 2012 for a reported fee of £24 million is unhappy at Old Trafford and will like to move back to the Emirate to play for his old employer.

Van Persie is believed to be unhappy with Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to retire having initially promised him he (Ferguson) wouldn't. The striker is also said to be unhappy with new boss David Moyes' training regime which he believes has contributed to his injury woes this season.

The 30-year-old's agent reportedly met with Arsenal boss last month to discuss a move and Arsenal and Manchester United are both believed to be opened to the deal for the striker, who has just two-and-a-half years left on his current contract.

Arsenal are currently shopping for a striker to assit Olivier Giroud upfront as their other options are fringe players.
