Rooney To Sign £300,000-a-week deal This Week

Wayne Rooney has given-up his dream of a move to Chelsea and resolved to put pen to paper on a proposed £300,000-a-week deal.

Rooney and United have been in talks about the £300,000-a-week deal for a while and it is understood that talks are on the brink of being concluded as an announcement should be made in the early part of this week.

Details of the proposed contract puts Rooneey's basic salary at £250,000-a-week deal and performance-related incentives built in to it will take it closer to the £300,000-a-week mark if United go on to be as successful as they were during the Sir Alex Ferguson years.

Rooney’s new deal will be for four-and-half years, meaning that he is expect to remain at Old Trafford until 2018.

Rooney is also been considered to take over the captain's band as current captain, Nemanja Vidic is set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season with Inter Milan on the leading the race to sign the Serbian.
