Bent's Late Goal Broke United's Heart

Darren Bent scores Fulham's equaliser

Darren Bent porch home into an empty net very late into the encounter to earn Fulham a point at the Old Trafford and confining Manchester United to two successive matches without a win.

United Rallied from a goal down to go ahead, scoring two quick goals in the space of 90seconds, but a sloppy play led to a much needed equalizer for Fulham as Darren Bent head the ball into an empty net after De Gea had pulled a superb save from Kieron Richardson's shot.

Fulham got the opener against the run of play as Lewis Holtby found Sidwell's run into the Eighteen yard area wih a well timed right footed chip for the former Arsenal man to porch home leaving David De Gea glued to the spot.

Van Persie came close to grabbing the equalizer for United his effort from Raphael's cross at the back post went over the bar.

United mounted huge pressure on their Opponent, laying camp in their half as they countinue to search for the equaliser but they are met with superb tackles and blocks at every time they call.

Fulham nearly got the second as they cut Manchester Untied on the counter. Swedish teenager Muamer Tankovic on his Premier League debut burst forward to play in Richardson, but the former United player shot over the bar with only De Gea to beat.

With United enjoying 72% possession midway into the second half and Fulham pinned to their half to do all the defending needed, David Moyes made three attacking changes, - Adnan Januzaj, Antonio Valencia and Javier Hernandez came in for Ashley Young, Rafael and Fletcher.

The substitution paid-off as Robin Van Persie scored the equaliser with just over 78 minutes played tucking in at back-post from Juan Mata's kick, and Carrick grabed the second as he drove in a deflected effort from the edge of the area two minutes later.

With just few seconds of the added five minutes to play, Manchester United looks to have snatched three points at stake with their display but they were heartbroken when a slopy defensive clearance by captain Nemanja Vidic allowed Richardson to be played in on the right and the midfieder released an thunderous shot which was blocked by De Gea but only as far as Derren Bent standing unmarked at the other side of the post and he did very well to nod home despite the unrushing prowells of Vidic.

The result is another low for Moyes, whose side have already lost five games at Old Trafford this season and now sit nine points behind fourth-placed Liverpool as their pursuit of a Champions League place took a serious dent.
