Barcelona have announced that they will appeal the red card issued left back, Jordi Alba in the weekend's 3-2 La Liga loss to Valencia at Camp Nou.
The Spain international received his matching orders when he was shown his second yellow card of the game in the 77th minute following an altercation with Sofiane Feghouli, having already gone into the referee's book shortly after the interval.
The Catalans feel the 24-year-old's dismissal against his former team was harsh and have consequently opted to launch an appeal.
Alba's red card was the first for a Barcelona player since last year's Clasico. The Catalans had since gone 52 games without a dismissal.
