Wenger Down-Play Possibility Of Summer Move For Suarez

Arsenal head coach,  Arsene Wenger has stated that the club has no intention of going after Liverpool striker Luis Suarez when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

The Gunners had tried to recruit the point man during the summer transfer window last year, with Suarez himself pushing for a move away from Anfield, but their offer of over £40million

Suarez has been instrumental to the Reds success in the league so far scoring 23 goals in 19 appearances thereby drawing huge interest from top clubs around Europe.

Arsenal next face Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday as they look to bring an end to their trophy drought this season and can go 11 points clear of the Reds with victory, but Wenger believes Brendan Rodgers' side, unbeaten in seven matches, are in better shape than when they were beaten 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium in November.

Jack Wilshere is in line to play some part against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, while Mikel Arteta is likely to feature.
