The Football Federation has upheld the three match placed on Real Madrid striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, after being sent off in his team's 1-1 draw against Atletico Bilbao last weekend.
The Federation made the confirmation on Friday.
Ronaldo was sent off by the referee on 75minutes as he was adjudged to have attempted to slap Athletic Bilbao midfielder, Ander Iturraspe.
According to the Referee's report, Ronaldo was also accused of insulting the officials with his gesture as he was leaving the pitch.
"after being sent off and while he was leaving the field, (he) slapped his own face several times with the palm of his hand in the direction of the fourth official" the report said.
The suspension however applies to only league games, which made him available for the Copa Del Rey semi final first leg but will be missing when Madrid host Villareal this weekend and another two against Getafe and Elche.
