Arsenal has reportedly submitted a £24.7m bid for Schalke german youngstar Julian Draxler.
The 20-year-old has been strongly linked to the London club over the past week and it appears that Arsene Wenger would prefer to secure the player's services now rather than in the summer.
Report has it that a delegation from Arsenal are currently in Germany to negotiate the imminent switch for the prolific winger With just two days to go before the January transfer window closes.
Draxler has a £37m release clause included in his current contract, but Arsenal hopes their bid of close to £25m with potential add-ons can sway the German team to sell.
Considering that Schalke would have little time to sign a replacement for Draxler, the chances of a deal being completed before Friday are slim; however, the Bundesliga outfit are reportedly interested in re-signing Tottenham's out-of-favour playmaker Lewis Holtby if Draxler leaves the Veltins-Arena.
