German Bundesliga side, Borussia Monchengladbach, has revealed that striker, Luuk de Jong is on the verge of completing a move to Newcastle.
Monchengladbach announced this via their official Twitter account on Tuesday stating the he is no more training with the team and is due for a medical at the English premier league side.
"Luuk de Jong does not train with the Foals today. The attacker is on his way to his medical at Newcastle." the statement said.
The twenty- three year old striker was a transfer target for Newcastle in the summer of 2012 but he joined the German side instaed in a £12million deal.
The Netherlands international who has not scroed in his thirteen games for Monchengladbach this season, speaks of his desire for first team football which is his main aim given that the world cup is at hand.
"I still have a week [to consider a transfer]. I just want to play again. I would still love to play for Monchengladbach, but when that's not possible I will look somewhere else." He said
